Macie is having a bad week

Last night I noticed Macie was limping and upon inspecting her foot I saw that she had broken her toenail clear up near her paw. The nail was hanging but the quick and nerves were still attached. I called my parents and asked them to come over and help watch Baines while I figured out what to do since McCall is in Texas for work. My dad and I wrapped her foot so I could take her to the vet the next day because I'd already done the late night emergency vet visit once this week. After and hour wait at the vets office they said I had to leave her so they could numb up her foot, cut the toenail off, clean and wrap it. Two hours and $220 later Macie is doing ok and has to keep her bandage on for 5 days.

Macie Bacie

Last night our poor Macie dog had a small seizure. She's never had one before and it was the scariest thing I've ever seen. Nicholas grabbed her up and took her to the emergency vet. By the time they got there she was already recovering. I cried my eyes out until Nicholas called with good news. The doctor looked her over and said she should be fine. We just need to keep an eye on her for 24 hours. During all that was going on little B just sat quietly on my lap. I'm sure she could sense our stress. She is such a sweet baby and loves the doggies so much. We're all happy Macie is doing better!

Family Photo's

My cousin Sami Sue (AKA Samantha Hoffman) took these amazing pictures while we were in Utah. I can't get enough of them. She did such a great job capturing all my favorite faces little B makes. These are some of my favorites, you can check out all of them at One Day in June Photography

Check up

This morning I took my sweet baby girl for a check up. Next week she’ll be 6 months… so weird.

She’s growing just perfectly and the doctor said her development is great. She’s 14.07 lbs and 26 inches tall. Her weight dropped to 30% for her age. The doctor said it’s nothing to be concerned about; she’ll eventually gain it back. Compared to all the boys we know she’s much smaller, which is surprising because she was bigger than them the first 3 months. She’s still in the 75% for her height. Hopefully she’ll end up tall and skinny!

She had to get her next round of shots. It just kills me to hear her cry. After we were done the bandaid fell off her leg and blood got on her onesie. Talk about trauma (for me), seeing her blood almost made me pass out. She was so brave that she got a Strawberry Short Cake sticker on the way out.

The walker

Baines loves her walker and recently she has gotten better and better at actually walking and turning it to get where she wants to go. My parent's house has hardwood floors so the walker lets her get around, chase the dog and cause trouble throughout the day. Here is a quick video I tried to catch last night.

Crazy Legs Baines

Baines has really been discovering her legs and feet lately. Sunday night we sat on the couch and watched TV. Baines was having a blast moving her crazy legs. I think she got restless leg syndrome. I love the look on her face, she so proud of herself.

She’s sitting up on her own and loving every minute of it.

PS. How awesome is the Mr. T Mohawk!

5 Months

My baby girl is 5 months old today… I can’t believe it.

Just in the past few weeks she has grown and progressed so much. On Friday she spoke her first words and of course it was Dada. She loves to say it and it make me super jealous. Last night I heard Nicholas in the bedroom trying to get her to say Mama. He’s trying to make me feel better.

This baby is already becoming a handful. She only wants to be on her feet and tries to walk everywhere. She won’t be able to walk for quite awhile, she’s still super wobbly. Nicholas has been trying to teach her to crawl but she has no interest. We don’t want her to skip the crawling stage so she doesn’t miss out on important developmental skills.

Also she’s all up in my Bizness now, gone are the days when she would just lay on her back and be content. She grabs everything! Toys, paper, other children, remote controls and anything in her sight! If she can’t get it, she throws a fit. She’s getting really good at the fake-out cry. The fake-out cry also comes into play when she’s getting dressed. She LOVES to be naked baby. This morning she was in tears because she was so pissed that we made her get dressed. It was a great way to celebrate 5 months of life!
