Alone
I'm sitting alone in a crappy hotel room in Houston watching christmas movies. I miss my little family! Traveling for work is extra hard now. :-(

16 Weeks
Yesterday Baines had her check up doctor’s appt. She is now 12 pounds 8 ounces and 24 3/4 inches tall. She gained 2 pounds and grew 2 inches since our last visit. Percentiles are the same, 50% for weight and 75% for height. Again the Dr said she looked perfect. She’s growing and developing right on schedule. She got to show off all her tricks, tummy time, standing, and sitting up. When he put the stethoscope on her chest to listen to her heart, she let out this huge laugh. I think because it was cold or she just thought it was funny. The Dr couldn’t get over how cute she is. I agree!!!
He also said we can start feeding her solid foods in 2 weeks. So now I have to do some research to find out what are the best things to start with. She always stares at us when we’re eating so I’m excited to see her reaction when she tries food for the first time.

Hard Luck continues…
Our weekend started off on a high note Friday night with Nicholas breaking his foot. He was riding his motorcycle in a steel cage while trying to feed a tiger and jump through a ring of fire. The tiger jumped up and knocked him off the bike and the motorcycle fell on his foot. Luckily he narrowly escaped being caught on fire as he flew threw the flames on the way down. It was pretty bad ass!!!
Okay so that was not entirely true… I may have elaborated a little. Nicholas was cleaning up the backyard getting ready for the HEAVY rain this weekend. He stepped on a piece of lumber and rolled his foot. He heard a loud crack and knew instantly that is was broken. He came inside and elevated it. When he took off his shoe it was already swollen and bruising. He wanted to wait and see what happened the next morning. When he woke up it was even bigger and 10 times more painful. So we took B to the in-laws and headed to the Emergency Room. 4 hours later the X-rays are in and its defiantly broken. They didn’t have an orthopedic on call so they splinted his foot and sent us home with a referral and Vicodin.
We also missed our friends Scott & Jeanie's son Demetri's birthday party. I was so looking forward to going. We love hanging out with those guys so it was a bummer. They did a Nintendo Mario theme party with Mustaches and all! Also they are expecting another little one in December. I wanted to see Jeanie's little belly.
Did I also mention the HEAVY rain? Yes it rained like crazy which it bad of our new construction with NO roof. Nicholas and his father covered it with our giant tarp but the rain brought a friend with it call hurricane winds. The winds ripped the tarp from the roof and water leaked everywhere. Including into our existing bathroom because there is hole in the ceiling where they had to attached steel pieces to hold the new roof. So before the next storm (tomorrow), we have to buy another huge tarp. Blahhhahh…
Also my parents and Dustin are coming to visit on Wednesday and I can’t wait! I’m so excited for my dad to see Baines since he’s only seen her once (when she was born). Also Dustin’s going to meet her for the first time!!! This Thanksgiving is going to be super fun!

It did make me happy to decorated for Christmas yesterday. I know it’s early but I have to go to Texas the 30-3rd and I don’t want to come home and do it then. So it’s all done and I can enjoy Baines and a festive house when I return.

Crib
Up until last week we were a co sleeping family. By we, I mean Nicholas, Baines, Macie, Bugita and I in a king size bed. I love falling asleep with Baines next to me and waking up to her smiling face. It made feedings really easy too since I didn't even have to get out of bed. From the day we brought her home we established boundaries for the dogs. We put Baines on one of her small blankets and the dogs knew they could not go near. So we never had and issue. It has worked out really well for us.
We would still be co sleeping every night but Baines started taking up more room and I as afraid as she got bigger we would squash her. So we thought now was the best time to transition into the crib. Nana and Papa Enterline bought Baines this awesome crib. We put it up about a week ago and the transition has gone great. She's slept in the crib every night since then. She only wakes up 1 or 2 times to eat. I feed her and then its back to the crib. Its still really easy because she's in our room. I was surprised how well she adjusted but I shouldn't be because she's such an easy going baby!

A roof over our head
I have been a little down lately, wishing things were different. I wish we had a finished house, that Baines had her own room, that we have enough money (to do the previous), that I didn’t have to leave B everyday to work, and that the house would clean itself. It’s really easy to start feeling this way when I get overwhelmed. I have to keep telling myself to stay positive, that these things are just temporary. I need to remember how lucky I really am, I have a roof over my head, a warm bed, a beautiful baby and a husband that loves us unconditionally. Nicholas has put in so many hours to build us a beautiful home. I know I don’t show my appreciation enough. He is working so hard to make our dream come true. On top of that he is an extremely helpful husband. I’ve had a hard time balancing my time with B and the housework. He has really stepped up and covered where I couldn’t.
I’ve been repeating in my head “At least I have a roof over my head” and yesterday, Nicholas and his father finished hanging the joists for the addition. So my roof is getting bigger. :-)

Seriously! I have the cutest baby in the world!!!
Just when you think she couldn't get any cuter... she does this! This is the first time she has laughed like this. I love technology since we can capture these moments.

3 Months Old
Little B is 3 Months old today. She is such a cool little person and we’re falling in love with her more and more everyday. Honestly I can’t get enough of her. We love watching her learn and try things for the first time. She has almost mastered rolling from her back to her stomach. Visa Versa is a lot harder! Her hand eye coordination is getting better too. When you hold a toy out in front of her she can reach out for it and hold on. Play time is really fun!
Since the car seat is not her favorite we put her in the Bjorn whenever we go walking around. She loves it! She looks side to side taking in all her surroundings. She is such a weirdo because she licks the side constantly. I guess it must taste good? She does it so much that the sides are soaked with spit. Last night we were at Trader Joes and Nicholas got a video. Look how big the drool spot is!!!
