Christmas Eve

It's a New Year and already I'm playing catch up.  I have a million pictures from Christmas and our week off for Utah Vacation.   I thought I should break up my posts so not to overwhelm you... Of course most pictures are of Baines.  I really like her :-)

On Christmas Eve, we spent the evening with Nicholas Mom's side of the family.  We do a big dinner, socialize, and all the kids open gifts.   Last year she was so into the packages and pulling tissue paper out, as you might remember here .    This year it she wasn't really interested in the wrapped gifts.  I had to open them, when she saw the toy's inside she was so stoked and wanted us to open the boxes right away.

She got some really fun gifts that include a Tree House tent, cute hair clips and necklace hand made by Nicholas's cousins wife, an Elmo guitar (her favorite), a little piano, and tea set.  Spoiled Rotten and its only Christmas Eve.

After we got home we opened our Christmas Jammies and did some major cuddle time.  Baines spent most of hers on top of the dogs.

Video's of my love muffin

I'm still working on getting myself re acclimated from our vacation and work travel. At some point I might actually sit down and write a meaningful blog post... or maybe not. Until then here are some super awesome video's of my baby girl.

She really missed her dog dog's while we were in Lake Powell.

Pismo Beach

I’ve never liked the beach and rarely visit. I enjoy having pale skin and sand free shoes. Having a family to share experiences with has changed my opinion. Last week we went to Pismo Beach in central California. We had a really lovely time with the in-laws and our nephews. My favorite day we walked along the beach and collected Sand Dollars. The dogs went crazy running around in the water and Baines’ face lit up watching them. I loved it so much I might end up with a tan this summer.

At the Farm

Saturday we went to Riverside to have lunch and celebrate Nicholas’ grandfather’s birthday. While we were there we stopped by my coworker Kelli’s house. They have a large property with horse, dogs, and tons of goats. Baines had a great time meeting all the animals. She even got to ride Bert the goat.

Crib

Up until last week we were a co sleeping family. By we, I mean Nicholas, Baines, Macie, Bugita and I in a king size bed. I love falling asleep with Baines next to me and waking up to her smiling face. It made feedings really easy too since I didn't even have to get out of bed. From the day we brought her home we established boundaries for the dogs. We put Baines on one of her small blankets and the dogs knew they could not go near. So we never had and issue. It has worked out really well for us.

We would still be co sleeping every night but Baines started taking up more room and I as afraid as she got bigger we would squash her. So we thought now was the best time to transition into the crib. Nana and Papa Enterline bought Baines this awesome crib. We put it up about a week ago and the transition has gone great. She's slept in the crib every night since then. She only wakes up 1 or 2 times to eat. I feed her and then its back to the crib. Its still really easy because she's in our room. I was surprised how well she adjusted but I shouldn't be because she's such an easy going baby!

Bitter Sweet

Today is my last day in the office until the big show. Its really bitter sweet, I’m so excited for my new challenges but I love working. I love having a purpose everyday. It’s going to take all my strength not to call in while I’m off. Well at least until Baines comes then I will be distracted. The girls in my office were asking if I had anything planned for the next two weeks… I don’t have one thing. I need to clean and organize a couple of things, Finish setting up all Baines stuff, and most of all get some sleep. This week has been especially ruff because of my exhaustion. I wake up about 6 times a night to pee or flip over in bed. It will be nice to wake up at my leisure.

I’m also looking forward to spending time with my puppies. Things are going to drastically change around our house. So I want to get as much time in with them now. They are both spoiled rotten so it will be a reality check when Baines gets here. It also makes me feel really sad because I don’t want them thinking I love them any less. They’ll still be my first babies, just fury ones.

24 Weeks

This week has flown by… I can’t believe tomorrow is Friday. Everyday I have thought about updating the blog but just didn’t have a second to do it. A lot has gone on this week including me starting my 6th month of pregnancy. Baines is now 12 inches long and weighs about 1.4 lbs. She is still moving around all the time and especially when I eat. The girl already loves her food. You can see her moving from the outside now and on Tuesday morning my nephew Dean saw her move. The look on his face was so cute. It’s fun that they are so excited to meet their cousin.

We have our monthly doctor’s visit tomorrow. We will be scheduling my next ultrasound to check on my placenta. I also have to ask the doctor about some pressure that I have been feeling. My friends think its Braxton Hicks contractions (just practicing for the real thing). Hopefully it’s nothing to be worried about. I will also have to get a glucose test. Maybe I shouldn't have eaten the 2 pieces of cake today?

We also had some drama this week. My sweet little Macie puppy got injured. We went to Utah over the weekend and she stayed with Nicholas’ parents. Macie loves going there and loves to ruff house with their boxer. We don’t know what happened but we think she might have gotten hurt playing around. Saturday night she was acting really lethargic, which is unusual for her because she normally runs on full speed all the time! It progressively got worse and when we picked up Monday night she was visually in pain. We didn’t know if she had eaten something, caught the flu, or hurt herself? She was just looking at us like “Please help me”. She also hadn’t eaten in about a day. We watched her closely all night; I don’t think Nicholas or I slept. We were hoping after food and rest she would be feeling better. The next morning she was the same. She could barely walk. So we assumed it was a back or leg injury. We took her to the Vet Tuesday morning, and we were right. She did injure her back; we aren’t quite sure where because they didn’t want to do x-rays for fear that if they move her it would get worse. She had to get a shot in the back of anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxer. The doctor told us we should crate her for 2 weeks but honestly she put herself on bed rest. All she does is lay in her bed and sleep. It’s really depressing because she is our comic relief everyday. She has gotten a little better and the medication she is taking seems to be helping. Hopefully she will be back to herself soon. Bugita on the other hand loves that Macie is out of commission. She is running around the house like she is a puppy since she doesn’t have Macie stealing her toys and ruining her fun.

21 Weeks

So this week I am being a single mother. Nicholas is in North Carolina for a week working. I know I travel a lot and I’m sure he misses me but I REALLY MISS HIM. I had a doctor’s appt on Monday. Nothing special just my usual month follow up. Normally Nicholas is the only guy there but yesterday I was the only single girl. Everyone had their husbands with them. It was really weird, almost like the universe wanted me to miss him more. Then when I was sitting in the room waiting for the doctor to come in, I wished he was there. He always calms my nerves. He is usually full of funny jokes and wants to touch everything in the room. It drives me crazy but it’s funny seeing him mess with the birth control information diagrams. As most of you know he is still a 10 year old boy inside and can’t sit still. Not only is he comic relief but It’s really nice to have his input and comments. He really is so interested in the whole process.

During this appointment we reviewed the details from our Ultrasound. They took measurements to make sure that Baby B is growing just right. As you know I’m a glass is half empty kind of girl and was really nervous that something would be wrong. Fortunately everything looked great. Baines is growing just as she should. The only issue was my placenta, as I mentioned in a previous post, its located at the bottom of my uterus covering my cervix. This is called placenta previa, it would mean that I am unable to have a natural birth. My doctor was not that concerned because it generally moves as the pregnancy progresses. I will have another Ultrasound in a few weeks and if it hasn’t moved then we will start scheduling a C-section. I’m not worried about it yet, I’ll wait to see how things go before I stress out.

Not only do I miss Nicholas but the puppies do too! When he is gone both dogs are always on edge listening to every noise hoping it’s him. I’m usually in bed almost asleep before they give up on him coming home and join me. Last night both dogs sleep with me inside the pregnancy pillow. We have a king size bed and all they wanted to be right next to me. I think it’s because they want to be close to Baines, with that thought I didn’t mind. In fact they can cuddle with me and Baines any night.
