Baines is scheduled

Mark your calenders because Baines is scheduled to come to town. Friday, we found out that she'll be born Tuesday morning at 7:30 am!

It's not what we were expecting but its defiantly in our best interest. My placenta has moved back down partially covering my cervix. It's not completely covered but enough that my doctor felt it best we schedule a C-Section.

I've been feeling very overwhelmed since we found out but I have the best partner. Nicholas is so stoked that we have it planned. The doctor loved how much he was excited about the C-section. She said she needed him in every appt to calm the other mothers. He told me, "at least she won't be weird looking" like the vaginal birth babies, since her head wont be squeezed. Haha He's always does a good job making me laugh. He was super freaked out during our Birth Class when he saw how weird they look after birth.

Nicholas is also set with he's New Father Mustache! He started growing it because he said Dad's always have mustaches.
We'll be in the hospital for 3 night so I'll make sure we post some pictures once we get home. We love you all and can't thank you enough for your support!!!

Bitter Sweet

Today is my last day in the office until the big show. Its really bitter sweet, I’m so excited for my new challenges but I love working. I love having a purpose everyday. It’s going to take all my strength not to call in while I’m off. Well at least until Baines comes then I will be distracted. The girls in my office were asking if I had anything planned for the next two weeks… I don’t have one thing. I need to clean and organize a couple of things, Finish setting up all Baines stuff, and most of all get some sleep. This week has been especially ruff because of my exhaustion. I wake up about 6 times a night to pee or flip over in bed. It will be nice to wake up at my leisure.

I’m also looking forward to spending time with my puppies. Things are going to drastically change around our house. So I want to get as much time in with them now. They are both spoiled rotten so it will be a reality check when Baines gets here. It also makes me feel really sad because I don’t want them thinking I love them any less. They’ll still be my first babies, just fury ones.

One and…

My check up again went well this morning. My Dr said I’m One and …. Dilated which in to me translates to ALMOST 2. Its close enough for me to get excited that things are still moving forward. She also checked the fluid around the baby and it looked great. My Dr told me I’ve been such an easy enjoyable patient. She is super sweet. She doesn’t know me that well. She also made the comment that she has tons of babies due in the next two weeks. That freaked me out a little because the hospital has 5 shared rooms!!! If I had to share a room with someone that would mean Nicholas couldn’t say the night. This FREAKS ME OUT!!! I really need him there especially at night. So please everyone cross your fingers that we’ll get one of the 8 private rooms.

Ouch!

I'm okay but I wish I could say the same for my car. :-( You should have seen the look on her face when I stepped out of the car. I don't think anyone wants to hit a 9 month pregnant woman. She couldn't stop saying "I'm Sorry".

36 Weeks

At 36 weeks, I'm experiencing all the usual symptoms. Swollen feet, Kankes (that's right I have kankles), exhaustion, and forget about bending over to pick something up I've dropped. Today at work a paper fell on the floor and I left it there for almost an hour until someone walked by and picked it up for me... so sad. I cant believe how big my belly has grown over the past 3 weeks, Honestly it has almost doubled. It's also dropped quite a bit already. Just for fun I thought I should show how much I've grown.
13 Weeks

36 Weeks- I'm not wearing shoes because they wont fit!

We have been doing some preparation for the baby to arrive. Which included watching a video from the book "The Happiest Baby on the Block". If you haven't seen it and your expecting, you must put it on Netflix. The concept is based around the 5 "S's".
1. Swaddle
2. Lay on Side
3. SHHHHH
4. Swing
5. Suck

Hopefully we leaned a lot of good tools to help us calm the baby. I was surprise that the correct Swaddle was more complicated than it looks. If you do it correctly you'll have the best success. So we practiced on Red from Fraggle Rock. I think we nailed it!

The house continues to be a thorn in our side. The inspector really pissed Nicholas off today and we have a bunch of changes before he signs off the next step. As you know when it rains it pours so our Kitchen facet decided not to work. Nicholas went and bought us a cheap one and replaced it. It wasn't a big deal but it was just enough to make us crazy!

ONE!

We went to the Dr this morning for my weekly check up. She said I’m already 1 centimeter dilated and 70% effaced!!! That is good news and I hope the progression will continue. She thinks I won’t make it to my due date. That is what I was hoping for but there is no guarantee she’ll come early.

Cross your fingers!

All my bags are pack, I’m ready to go...

I had Monday off for the 4th of July holiday weekend. I spent the day packing my hospital bag. I had to go get a couple things at the store that I was missing and I am still waiting for my Extra Huge size nursing bra to come. But everything else is ready to go so Baines can come out whenever she feels like it because Mom and Dad are ready to party!

34 Weeks

I have been holding my breath all week because Nicholas was in North Carolina. Not that I thought I would go into labor this week but it was on my mind. With my luck I my water would break and he wouldn’t be able to make it back in time to see her born. It would suck if he missed her birth but the worst would be not having my support. I'm sure I’ll be a super bitch during the whole labor but I KNOW I’ll need him by my side (even if I don’t act like it). Luckily he’s on a plane home right now so Baines is free to make her entrance whenever she sees fit.

While Nicholas was in North Carolina his team surprised him with a baby shower. Super funny and so thoughtful and sweet! Here are a few pictures that he sent me. I can’t believe how lucky we are to know so many amazing people that want to support us.

Now for the Baines update, she is still growing like crazy. The doctor said she’s about 4 ¾ lbs, a little small but pretty close to where she should be. She is also dropping lower and is already facing down ready to go. I’ve been talking to her about trying to achieve my goal of a July birth. I told her a week early wouldn’t hurt anyone. haha it would only make her mommies aching body feel better (since I heard the last week is the worst).
