Christmas Eve

Baines had an amazing time celebrating her first Christmas Eve. She got to open her first presents from Nicholas' family. She loved the wrapping paper more than the actual gifts. I can't wait till tomorrow, I love Christmas!

Baines and her cousins, Dean and Anthony. So Cute!!!

Papa and Nana like to spoil Baines' cousins . That means she'll at least get some good hand-me-downs.

Today Baines got to try avocado for the first time. She was not too excited about it but we'll see if it grows on her over the next few days.

BEE ZEE

Last night BeeZee was having so much fun in her activity center. It’s the first time she really understood how awesome it is to hang out in. I’m super stoked because it’s a good baby sitter when house work needs to be done.

When I was uploading this video, I noticed that I forgot to upload this one. Here she is eating on day two. I can’t stand how cute she is!

4 Months

I made it home from Texas in just enough time to celebrate my little B's 4 month birthday. In just the short 4 days I was away from her she has grown and developed so much. Nicholas thinks I'm crazy but he just cant see how much she's changed. She's a little person now. She has control of her arms and legs. She loves to move around like crazy. It almost looks like she's trying to fly. Nicholas sent me this video while I was gone. She's so funny! Learning to Fly

I also noticed that she can handle her toys better. Before she would get frustrated because she couldn't get the toy to her mouth. Now she has no problem, so everything goes in her mouth including her feet. This is when the baby proofing starts

The doctor gave us the go ahead to start her on solid foods if we wanted. Yesterday morning we tried rice cereal for the first time. As you can see most of it ended up on her bib. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not but she ate the whole bowl.

Day 1

Today was the same, she didn't really act like she liked the cereal. but she liked the spoon. I would put a spoonful in her mouth and she would spit it out and chew on the spoon. It might still be a little early for her to start solids but well keep trying for 2 more days to see if she likes it more.

16 Weeks

Yesterday Baines had her check up doctor’s appt. She is now 12 pounds 8 ounces and 24 3/4 inches tall. She gained 2 pounds and grew 2 inches since our last visit. Percentiles are the same, 50% for weight and 75% for height. Again the Dr said she looked perfect. She’s growing and developing right on schedule. She got to show off all her tricks, tummy time, standing, and sitting up. When he put the stethoscope on her chest to listen to her heart, she let out this huge laugh. I think because it was cold or she just thought it was funny. The Dr couldn’t get over how cute she is. I agree!!!

He also said we can start feeding her solid foods in 2 weeks. So now I have to do some research to find out what are the best things to start with. She always stares at us when we’re eating so I’m excited to see her reaction when she tries food for the first time.

Here is my little B hanging out waiting for the Dr

Hard Luck continues…

Our weekend started off on a high note Friday night with Nicholas breaking his foot. He was riding his motorcycle in a steel cage while trying to feed a tiger and jump through a ring of fire. The tiger jumped up and knocked him off the bike and the motorcycle fell on his foot. Luckily he narrowly escaped being caught on fire as he flew threw the flames on the way down. It was pretty bad ass!!!

Okay so that was not entirely true… I may have elaborated a little. Nicholas was cleaning up the backyard getting ready for the HEAVY rain this weekend. He stepped on a piece of lumber and rolled his foot. He heard a loud crack and knew instantly that is was broken. He came inside and elevated it. When he took off his shoe it was already swollen and bruising. He wanted to wait and see what happened the next morning. When he woke up it was even bigger and 10 times more painful. So we took B to the in-laws and headed to the Emergency Room. 4 hours later the X-rays are in and its defiantly broken. They didn’t have an orthopedic on call so they splinted his foot and sent us home with a referral and Vicodin.

Baines face is blurry in this one but its so cute because she was laughing so hard.

We also missed our friends Scott & Jeanie's son Demetri's birthday party. I was so looking forward to going. We love hanging out with those guys so it was a bummer. They did a Nintendo Mario theme party with Mustaches and all! Also they are expecting another little one in December. I wanted to see Jeanie's little belly.

Did I also mention the HEAVY rain? Yes it rained like crazy which it bad of our new construction with NO roof. Nicholas and his father covered it with our giant tarp but the rain brought a friend with it call hurricane winds. The winds ripped the tarp from the roof and water leaked everywhere. Including into our existing bathroom because there is hole in the ceiling where they had to attached steel pieces to hold the new roof. So before the next storm (tomorrow), we have to buy another huge tarp. Blahhhahh
It did make me happy to decorated for Christmas yesterday. I know it’s early but I have to go to Texas the 30-3rd and I don’t want to come home and do it then. So it’s all done and I can enjoy Baines and a festive house when I return.

Also my parents and Dustin are coming to visit on Wednesday and I can’t wait! I’m so excited for my dad to see Baines since he’s only seen her once (when she was born). Also Dustin’s going to meet her for the first time!!! This Thanksgiving is going to be super fun!

Crib

Up until last week we were a co sleeping family. By we, I mean Nicholas, Baines, Macie, Bugita and I in a king size bed. I love falling asleep with Baines next to me and waking up to her smiling face. It made feedings really easy too since I didn't even have to get out of bed. From the day we brought her home we established boundaries for the dogs. We put Baines on one of her small blankets and the dogs knew they could not go near. So we never had and issue. It has worked out really well for us.

We would still be co sleeping every night but Baines started taking up more room and I as afraid as she got bigger we would squash her. So we thought now was the best time to transition into the crib. Nana and Papa Enterline bought Baines this awesome crib. We put it up about a week ago and the transition has gone great. She's slept in the crib every night since then. She only wakes up 1 or 2 times to eat. I feed her and then its back to the crib. Its still really easy because she's in our room. I was surprised how well she adjusted but I shouldn't be because she's such an easy going baby!

A roof over our head

I have been a little down lately, wishing things were different. I wish we had a finished house, that Baines had her own room, that we have enough money (to do the previous), that I didn’t have to leave B everyday to work, and that the house would clean itself. It’s really easy to start feeling this way when I get overwhelmed. I have to keep telling myself to stay positive, that these things are just temporary. I need to remember how lucky I really am, I have a roof over my head, a warm bed, a beautiful baby and a husband that loves us unconditionally. Nicholas has put in so many hours to build us a beautiful home. I know I don’t show my appreciation enough. He is working so hard to make our dream come true. On top of that he is an extremely helpful husband. I’ve had a hard time balancing my time with B and the housework. He has really stepped up and covered where I couldn’t.

I’ve been repeating in my head “At least I have a roof over my head” and yesterday, Nicholas and his father finished hanging the joists for the addition. So my roof is getting bigger. :-)

Seriously! I have the cutest baby in the world!!!

Just when you think she couldn't get any cuter... she does this! This is the first time she has laughed like this. I love technology since we can capture these moments.

3 Months Old

Little B is 3 Months old today. She is such a cool little person and we’re falling in love with her more and more everyday. Honestly I can’t get enough of her. We love watching her learn and try things for the first time. She has almost mastered rolling from her back to her stomach. Visa Versa is a lot harder! Her hand eye coordination is getting better too. When you hold a toy out in front of her she can reach out for it and hold on. Play time is really fun!

Since the car seat is not her favorite we put her in the Bjorn whenever we go walking around. She loves it! She looks side to side taking in all her surroundings. She is such a weirdo because she licks the side constantly. I guess it must taste good? She does it so much that the sides are soaked with spit. Last night we were at Trader Joes and Nicholas got a video. Look how big the drool spot is!!!

Balding Baby

You can tell in this picture that she has lost more than half of her hair.  We can see that the new growth is going to be blonde.  Its crazy how fast they change over such a short period of time.

12 Weeks

Our little B is 12 weeks old. She has become as Nicholas calls her Drool Monster and she's not even teething yet. You hold her over your shoulder for 2 seconds and your shirt is soaked. Its actually pretty cute because she licks everything. Last night Nicholas was holding her and bouncing on the yoga ball. She was staring at me and licking his shoulder. He would pull her away and her tongue would stop. Once he layed her back down her tongue would start moving again. She did it for about 30 minutes.

She has really found her voice too. She is always screaming and squawking, trying out different tones and pitches. Sometimes she'll scream so loud she scares herself. Its really funny. Nicholas got a new guitar because we wanted him to play music for B. Its been really cute to see her face when he plays. The other night he was playing and B was singing. So freakin cute!!!! I love these two!!!!

Sweet Faces

Nothing is better than coming home from a work trip to these faces. Nicholas was such an awesome single dad. He took great care of our little B (not that I didn’t think he would). He also made sure she was dressed cute everyday (Something I think most dads are bad at) Haha. He sent me pictures and videos to help with my Baines withdrawal. I missed my little family like crazy and I'm not looking forward to leaving them again.

Is it too early?

Do you think it is too early for me to order this for Baines?

I first saw one of these bikes at McCall's friends house last year and wanted to order it then. I know Baines can't even roll over yet but we can work out those little details later. It will probably be another year before we even think about getting her to try this but still, I want it.

What its like when Daddy gets me ready in the morning

McCall left for her first work trip this morning so I'm on my own until Sunday.

10 Weeks

My little baby is 10 weeks old today and this is my last week home with her. Monday I have to go back to work and on Wednesday I leave to Dallas for 4 days. Next week is going to be really really hard on me. Whenever I think about not seeing her smile all day it makes me cry. Also Nicholas is in North Carolina again so I'm an emotional single mom this week!

I've been trying to make the best out of my last week with B. She is so fun right now. She just smiles and laughs all the time. Except for her car seat. She hates being in it. Most babies like riding in the car but all she does is scream. We can calm her down with a pacifier and sometime she sleep but for the most part she hates it. It makes shopping or taking her anywhere difficult. Last week I decided to take her out of the seat and carry her in the Bjorn. Its working really well. She likes to be able to look around. she moves her head side to side looking at everything. I was actually able to get grocery shopping done without her screaming to be let out of the car seat.

She loves it when I sing her songs. Right now her favorite is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. She gets excited because she knows I will be touching her face. whenever you touch her face or just cheeks she smiles and laugh. She a ticklish girl!

Please don't judge my terrible singing!!!

HOT

Yesterday the boys had to take out our current bedroom's window in order to finish framing the new master bath. That window also housed our only air conditioner. Yesterday was 96 and not having the double pane glass and no AC really heated up the house. We had to re arrange our bedroom so we could put the AC back in. By the time we finished the house was already a MILLION degrees. B was really fussy because it was so hot. I got an ice cold rag and put it on her head. Not only did she love it but she looked super cute too!

Framing

We took a hiatus from working on the house when B was born. Now the boys are getting back into it. For the last week they have been working super hard on getting the addition framed. They've almost got it complete.

Shrieking for Sophie

Last night Baines played with Sophie for a half and hour. Towards the end she got really frustrated because she cant grab her yet. She just tries so hard to bite her ears. She started shrieking and I thought it was so funny and cute. See for yourself, at 23 seconds its the best!

Left all alone

Poor little B was left screaming while Nicholas and I tried to cover our addition with a tarp during a down pour. Does anyone want to be our financial backer and pay to finish our house?

PS. it stopped raining once we got it covered. So we just trapped the rain underneath. FAIL

Team Enterline

4 years ago today I joined Team Enterline in a small backyard wedding. The week before we moved into our new house and hours before we said I Do. We were hooking up our new fridge. Nicholas had to go under the house to hook up the water and I was behind the fridge waiting for him to give me the go ahead to turn it on. It sounds weird but that's one of my favorite memories from that day.

I am so happy that we ended up together. I love Nicholas so much for being a rad husband and an amazing father.

Jammie Day

Yesterdays after we got home from the doctor the pain from the shots set in.  Poor little B screamed for hours, she would only calm down when I was holding her.  After that tramatic day I decided today would be jammie day.  We spent the whole day relaxing and playing.  We watched Yo Gabba Gabba, played with toys, did tummy time, read two books, and worked on hand eye coordination.  Baines had so much fun she passed out for a long nap.

8 Weeks

We just got home from Baines' check up with the doctor. We couldn't wait to find out her stats and make sure she's growing properly. She is now 10 lbs and 5 oz. which puts her in 50% for her age. She is also 23 inches long. That is 75% for her age. I was worried that she was gaining too much weight especially in those adorable chubby checks! Everything else looked good, he checked her out and said she is grow just right. He said she had a really sweet disposition. She was acting so sweet while we were there. She was smiling like crazy and having good time. That is until she had to get 4 shots. Poor little thing scream bloody murder. It broke my heart! Being a mom is so hard. I never want anything to happen to this sweet little face.

Its so strange how being a mother can be so wonderful even with all the stress. Everything seems to be a blur since I had her. The things that I thought really mattered no longer make any sense. I never really wanted to be a mother and honestly never thought I could. I didn't think I was capable of loving someone so unconditionally and I was surprised how naturally it came to me. Just like that I would give up anything for her. She makes every day amazing.

She makes the funniest faces and I love them all!

Baby Me

I've been wanting to compare Baines to me as a baby, so my mom took a picture of this one (hence the flash). She said I'm 3 months here. I can't believe how much hair I have. Its about double what B does. Everyone keeps saying how she got that from Nicholas but I think it came from me. Her eye color looks just like mine so I think we'll have a grey/hazel eyed baby.
